The- Nectar of Instruction 

   The literal meaning of the word Upadesamrita is upadesh means instruction and amrit means  immortal. In today’s world people are endeavoring and working so hard to  increase the duration of their life , that they think it is practically impossible to become immortal .

Amrit means that which negates Mrityu or Death . When we understand that we are not this body but we are spirit souls , which never die then we become immortal. So bhakti , or devotional service is a path that leads to immortality . Therefore it is an instruction which leads us to immortality.

  The Nectar Of Instruction was written by Srila Rupa Goswami under the supervision of whom the Krishna Consciousness movement is conducted . Srila Rupa Goswami was the leader of all the six goswamis .The Gaudiya Vaishanavas , or Bengali vaishnavas are mostly the followers of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu of whom six Goswamis of Vrindavan are direct disciples. 

Srila Chaitanya Mahaprabhu appeared to distribute the science of Krishna . The Nectar Of Instruction guides one to promote himself from the mood of passion and ignorance to the mood of goodness [sattavaguna]

One who wants to become a devotee of Krishna must first control his senses , a devotee is one who controls the senses and not the one who is controlled by his senses. If one desires to serve the lord then , he must first become a Gosvami. Go means senses and Svami means the Master . 

To achieve the highest success in life by becoming a gosvami and then a pure devotee of the lord one should follow the Nectar of Instruction . It guides one’s activities so that we may become pure vaishnavas .
