The Path of Perfection
The path of perfection explains the highest standard of human beings, the practice of the science of self bhakti yoga. A chronicle of an historic series of talks by Srila Prabhupada, this book probes deeply the nature of consciousness, meditation, karma, death and reincarnation. He prescribes a simple process to purify the mind and elevate the consciousness, which not only assures readers inner peace, but the power to change the chaotic trend of modern society. Ultimately he describes in detail the process of bhakti-yoga, by which one can easily purify the mind and elevate the consciousness to a state of ultimate peace and happiness. In this collection of historic talks on the yoga process, set forth by Lord Sri Krishna in the sixth and eight chapters of the Bhagavad Gita.
The Path of Perfection consists of a historic series of talks-elaboration on a previously published commentary-by His Divine Grace A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. (1896-1977) on India’s spiritual classic, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Srila Prabhupada offers a summary of the methods of bhakti-yoga unfolding the universal application form of Yoga. The book mentions an important note about Mayavad where Srila Prabhupada repeatedly speaks against Mayavadis as they are impersonalists and they think that God is formless. Their goal and thinking is to become one with God. If one practices the regulative principles of Yoga, he can attain eight kinds of perfection. One can become heavier than a great stone and one can become lighter than a cotton swab. One can immediately get whatever he likes and even can create a planet. But these are material powers. Bhakti-yogis are not interested in such powers. The bhakti-yogi, acting in Krishna consciousness works for the satisfaction of the whole without self-interest. This material body is spiritualized by this bhakti-yoga process.
