Nectar of devotion
When Lord Sri Chaitanya was travelling in the holy city Prayagraj he was visited by his most dear devotees, Srila Rupa Goswami and his younger brother Vallabha. The Lord was very glad to receive them on the banks of Ganges.
Later Srila Rupa Goswami and his brother went further with Him and sat near Dasvamedha ghat where Lord Sri Chaitanya gave teachings to Srila Rupa Goswami also know as ‘Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu’.
The Nectar of Devotion is the summary study of Srila Rupa Goswami’s Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu, or “the nectar that is derived from the ocean of devotion (bhakti)”. It has the complete science of bhakti-yoga, or the connection with the Supreme by transcendental loving devotion. It has been mentioned in the book that by devotional service one can attain the highest perfection that is the Love of Godhead. Bhakti-yoga is simple and sublime hence, anyone can do it in this age.As long as one identifies himself as belonging to a certain family, a certain society or a certain person, he is said to be covered with designations. When one is fully aware that he is not this body but a part and parcel of the Lord ( the soul) then he realises that his energy should be employed only to serve the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna. This is the purity of purpose and the platform of pure devotional service in Krishna consciousness.
