Srimad Bhagavatam Leela

KRISHNA- 0UR ETERNAL BEST FRIEND!

Everyone in this material world is looking for a
place to rest their tired hearts and their weary
souls, we search for solace in others and end up
getting hurt because the people that we think can
give us shelter are themselves conditioned,
struggling with the chains of the three modes of
material nature. We all can think of a time in our
lives when we wanted others to take a stand for
us, to care about us. We all have yearned for
someone to help us feel seen and heard, that
“someone” is KRISHNA…. We all have the
propensity to love and a desire to be loved.
However, when we get frustrated by reposing our
love in the people of this world then we repose
that love in animals, in things and so on; but
ultimately what we are looking for is that True
Love that True Happiness that we can only relish
when we turn towards the Divine.

Krishna is the real friend and a true well-wisher of
each and every living entity. Our relationship with
him is everlasting and Supreme, he doesn’t judge
and will never condemn us even if we fail him
everyday! Krishna has been there for us from time
immemorial, the Bhagavad Gita expresses that the
Supreme Being is staying within the heart of every
sentient being, even in the hearts of
cats, dogs, hogs or any other being, as the best
friend…His lotus feet is the resting place for all
weary souls. If we really want peace and
tranquillity in this world we need to turn our faces
towards Krishna who is ready to accept us back,
back at our real home, the real destination!
Nobody is better friend than KRISHNA, he is always
thinking how this bewildered individual soul can be
brought back to home, back to Godhead. He is
coming from Vaikuntha from Vrindavan to teach
us how you can become friend of KRISHNA in
Vrindavan.
~Srila Prabhupada

The best way to connect with our Supreme Bestie
is by chanting his names and offering our heartfelt
prayers unto his lotus feet, for Krishna is merciful
but his name being non-different from Krishna
himself is a billion times more merciful, be it the
“helpless prayers of Gajendra” or the “piteous cries
of Mother Draupadi” ,“the unshakable faith of
Prahalad Maharaj”
or the “strong determination of
Dhruva Maharaj”

Krishna responds! Sometimes in the form of an
unlimited cloth to protect the chastity of his
surrendered ,pure devotee and the daughter-in-law of the Kuru Dynasty or sometimes appears
with a loud roar in his most ferocious form of a
Half-lion and half-man to protect his fearless
devotee Prahalad.
Sometimes he appears with a
winsome smile riding on the back of his beloved
vahana Garuda saving the King of Elephants and
sometimes appears in a four-armed form (which
represents the four directions of the cosmos that
he supports at all times) to end the stringent
penance of Little Dhruva and with just a touch of
his conchshell the son of Uttanpad offered his
heartfelt prayers….Only when we take full shelter
in Krishna by chanting his names, full protection
will be given to us by him.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna encourages Arjuna
so many times to think of Him, worship Him, offer
his prayers unto Him, and to depend on Him.
Someone who has practiced dependence on
Krishna and surrenders to him gains something so
valuable. It is more valuable than anything the
world can give and take away from us.

bhoktāraṁ yajña-tapasāṁ
sarva-loka-maheśvaram
suhṛdaṁ sarva-bhūtānāṁ
jñātvā māṁ śāntim ṛcchati

A person in full consciousness of Me, knowing Me to be the
ultimate beneficiary of all sacrifices and austerities, the
Supreme Lord of all planets and demigods, and the
benefactor and well-wisher of all living entities, attains
peace from the pangs of material miseries. {BG 5.29}

Let us spend more and more time of our lives in
strengthening our relationship with Krishna, Bhakti
begins when we start sharing our feelings with the
Divine as our guide, our mentor, our most beloved
companion….

Where is God, you ask?
The answer is simple:
Like a mischievous child, he hides there
Where most of us will never look for Him.
Every day His impatience grows.
The moment you finally find Him,
He will burst into joyful laughter and say:
"I thought you would never look for me
In your own heart!"
